  2. Do you really think we paid that much? Or did that include a fountain drink and popcorn?

  3. I remember it was 10 cents when I moved to California in 1957. I remember going to see Gone with the Wind and then reading the book. I used that book for book reports all through school...always good for an A.

  4. My wife, Janis, worked for her Dad (Charlie Jones)who owned the theatre until 1959. Ticket prices then were 50 cents for adults, 25 cents for 12 and under. Popcorn was 10 cents...20 cents if you wanted it buttered. Prior to that kids could get in for 10 cents. My dad gave me 25 cents for the movie and treats! Those were the days!!

  5. Charlie (great PA announcer, especially for church league softball) sold the theatre to Sophus Lee. One of his first moves was to offer us a split on tickets sold for one of his movies, as a fundraiser for the junior class. It was the first time I ever did door-to-door sales. I don't recall how many I sold or how much we made but I bet it wasn't a lot.

  6. Well, today's Northwood theater is $4 for and adult and $3 for a student. Not to bad for this time in our lives!
